As part of the HEPscreen project, four different screening strategies were pilot tested in four different European countries:
- A hybrid model using active outreach and opportunistic model in Barcelona (Spain),
- A invitation-based model via GP patient registers in London (England),
- Two strategies in Grampian (Scotland) – one in Universities where TB screening was extended to include HBV/HCV and an active outreach model in workplaces
- The extension of antenatal HBV screening to include HCV in Budapest (Hungary).

Three of the four pilot sites also held Community Engagement Meetings to evaluate the design, implementation and communication methods of the screening model, which have been written up in a final Community Engagement Meeting report:
